Commercial kitchens, large air conditioning systems, workshops, industrial equipment and EV fast chargers. We handle three phase upgrades and new installations across Noosa.
Most Noosa homes run on single phase power — a standard 230V supply that handles everyday appliances comfortably. But there are situations where single phase reaches its limits: large commercial kitchens, big multi-split air conditioning systems, workshops with heavy machinery, EV fast chargers, and some large solar inverter setups.
Three phase power delivers 415V across three separate circuits, spreading the load and providing significantly more capacity. It also allows equipment to run more efficiently and start up more reliably under load — particularly relevant for motor-driven equipment and commercial refrigeration.
If Energex has three phase supply available in your street (common in Noosaville, Tewantin and other areas), we can organise the upgrade. If not, there are alternative solutions for some scenarios. Call Steve to talk through what's right for your situation.
| Feature | Single Phase | Three Phase |
|---|---|---|
| Voltage | 230V | 415V (phase-to-phase) |
| Typical capacity | Up to ~13kW | Up to 60kW+ |
| Best for | Standard homes, small business | Commercial kitchens, workshops, large HVAC, EV fast chargers |
| Availability | Available everywhere | Available in most Noosa commercial areas and many residential streets |
| EV charging speed | Up to ~22kW (32A) | Up to 43kW AC / faster DC |
Three phase connections for commercial ovens, induction cooktops, refrigeration compressors and dishwashers. Correct circuit sizing and safety switch protection.
Multi-head systems and large ducted air conditioning often require three phase supply. We handle the switchboard upgrade and connection — coordinating with your HVAC installer.
Three phase power for lathes, compressors, welders and other industrial equipment. Correct circuit protection and equipment connections that start reliably under load.
Three phase EV chargers can deliver significantly faster charging than single phase. We install the supply, switchboard circuit and charger — all properly certified.
Some larger solar systems use three phase inverters for better load balancing. We handle the electrical side of three phase solar installations — working with your solar provider.
Three phase switchboard installation and upgrades. All circuits correctly balanced across phases, safety switches fitted, and compliant with AS/NZS 3000.
Call Steve to discuss whether three phase is right for your project and what's involved.
